Emerging as part of the current wave of rich and soulful hip hop being generated out of the Australian East Coast, Sydney producer Cabu has teamed up with Western Sydney hip hop duo INQ. on a vibe-heavy new joint, ‘Roots’.

Featuring stunning vocals from Gabby Nacua, the track is an immersive blend of R&B and hip hop sounds: vocals melt together like butter, while the production speaks to Cabu’s slick and contemporary ear for tone and structure.

The partnership between Cabu and INQ. has been established for some time, with both names having shared stages together in Sydney, and have been part of a strong and thriving local music community. Their collaboration with ‘Roots’ solidifies the presence of both while amplifying what is a natural ease they have with each other in the studio.

Cabu has been a fixture on airwaves and in clubs in recent years; a music curator and producer with pure talent. His music exceeding 50 million streams, Cabu’s mixes have been featured and supported by the likes of BBC 1xtra, Triple J, Majestic Casual, Soulection Radio and more. He has toured with artists including Cosmo’s Midnight, FKJ, Emotional Oranges and Slumberjack, all the while continuing to craft forward-thinking and dynamic original music that fans have hungered for time after time.

When it comes to INQ., the duo have been building their own cultural cache since 2018. The release of their True & Livin’ EP brought the duo to widespread attention, giving them the perfect platform to give listeners an insight into their unique approach to music and lyrical delivery. 2019’s Moments In Between furthered the duo’s journey of self-empowerment and evolution, cementing INQ. as a group to watch.
